(VOV) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and a working delegation paid a Tet visit to the Mong ethnic group in Long Luong commune, Moc Chau district in northern Son La province on January 6.
Son La urged to lead northern mountain region
He attended a festival Pa Kha mountain village and shared the holiday, wishing the villagers a happy New Year and good health, and encouraging them to promote production and raise living standards in upcoming year.
Mr Hung said he was pleased with the district’s socio-economic achievements, particularly those of Long Luong commune.
The NA Chairman praised the solidarity among the Mong ethnic group and their efforts to build a better life, especially the changes they have made in crops and livestock to increase income, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, in addition to building roads, schools and healthcare centres, as well as strengthening the political system.
He also highlighted their great contributions to the construction of the Son La hydroelectric power plant.
“On behalf of the Party and State, I wish the people of Lung Luong commune and Moc Chau district good health happiness, a developing economy, culture, education and prosperity,“ he said.
