Reporting the results of the 27th Diplomatic Conference, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said the conference comprehensively assessed the implementation of foreign activities, contributing to successfully implementing the Resolution adopted by the 11th Party Congress.
The conference studied foreign policies approved at the 11th Party Congress and discussed measures to improve the effectiveness of diplomatic activities and international integration in future.
Addressing the meeting, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said he hopes the conference will be successful and the country will reap new successes in its diplomacy.
The NA Chairman stressed that diplomacy is always connected with national construction and defence and international integration, therefore ambassadors and foreign affairs officials play an important role in defining and building national socio-economic development policies and ensuring defence and security.
He said the ambassadors and chief representatives should further promote cooperative bilateral and multilateral relations to contribute effectively to the country’s construction, development and international integration cause.
NA Chairman Hung also noted that delegates should pay more attention to establishing parliamentary diplomatic relations, assisting the National Assembly in building effective parliamentary diplomacy channels, and successfully implement diplomatic strategies as directed by the Party and State.
