HCMC – International exhibitors have brought several latest machines and equipment to the tenth exhibition on precision engineering, machine tools and metalworking (MTA Vietnam 2012) which opened on Tuesday at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7.
Despite economic difficulties, the scale of MTA Vietnam 2012 is still the largest compared to nine exhibitions of this kind held previously. This year’s exhibition has attracted the participation of over 400 enterprises from 23 countries and territories, with foreign enterprises accounting for up to 81% of exhibitors.
The exhibition is organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd.
Several technologies are introduced for the very first time in Vietnam at this exhibition.
According to Ricky Hwa from Yamazaki Mazak Singapore, seeing a high potential of manufacturing in Vietnam, the firm has planned to upgrade its representative office in Vietnam into a company within one year.
The firm will then establish a technological center consisting of display and service space with an investment of around US$1.2 million in the following two years.
MTA Vietnam 2012 lasting until Friday will also include conferences to introduce advanced technologies to enterprises on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
