"The plane has been seen by rescuers from air at the slope of Mount Salak, but we still have not arrived to the spot yet," Gagah Prakoso, spokesman of National Search and Rescue Agency told Xinhua by phone.
Nevertheless, the spokesman could not give further detail about the condition of the plane.
The Sukhoi commercial plane, carrying Russian businessmen, officials of Russian embassy office in Jakarta and journalists, lost contact during a promotion flight at 14:25 p.m. Jakarta time (0725 GMT) on Wednesday at the Bogor regency near Jakarta, spokesman of Transport Ministry Bambang Ervan said.
All the rescuers, soldiers, police and those from the search and rescue office, were directed to reach the spot, said Prakoso.
Several ambulances and hospitals have been prepared for evacuation of the victims of the plane, according local media.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that the government fully supports the evacuation and ordered to put a priority to evacuate possible survivors at the crash.
"We fully support the Search and Rescue Agency and others who are conducting search and rescue. The evacuation of the victims who are still alive (must be) put on a priority," President Yudhoyono told a press conference at the Air Force Military base Halim Perdanakusuma in East Jakarta.
The rescue operation involves over 700, soldiers, policemen, rescuers from the search and rescue office and volunteers, according to local media.
Several helicopters were included in the operation.
The accident took place when the plane was trying to descend from 10,000 feet to 6,000 feet on its way to return the air force base in East Jakarta, the spokesman said.
