The Youth Theatre and Vietnam Opera Theatre have been merged into the Vietnam National Opera Theatre, according to Decision no. 1153 dated March 27, 2012 signed by Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh.

The mergence aims to develop the country’s dramatic arts, Ho Anh Tuan, the deputy minister said.
People’s Artist Le Hung, who was director of the two theatres, will continue to be the top leader at the Vietnam National Opera Theatre.
The new theatre’s course of action and management apparatus will be publicly announced next week.
