The Hanoitimes - The Government issued a decree on common minimum salary, under which the minimum salary will be increased to VND 1.05 million per month from May 1, an increase of VND 220,000 per month compared to the current VND 830,000 per month.

The salary will be applied for cadres, officials, people working in the armed forces, labourers in state-owned agencies, political and social organizations, non-productive agencies, and one-member limited companies under the ownership of the state whose operations obey the enterprise law.


The salary is typically adjusted once a year. In 2011, the National Assembly Committee for Finance and Budget agreed with the Government’s proposal to increase the salary to VND 1.05 million in 2012.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the State budget will need some VND 11 trillion to fund the increase
