Nguyen Tien Minh is the only Vietnamese player qualifying for the second round of the singles event at the Badminton Asia Championship in Qingdao, China.
The world No. 10 defeated Indian rival HS Prannoy 21-16, 22-20 in the first round after 39 minutes.
His next opponent will be Yong Zhao Ashton Chen of Singapore, who won 21-2, 21-2 over Trikishmyrat Polarov of Turmenistan.

On the men’s side, Bui Bang Duc and Dao Manh Thang will play Malaysia’s V Shem Goh and Khim Wah Lim.
