PANO - The Central Military Commission and Defence Ministry held a ceremony to present new positions and promotion decisions to military high-ranking officers in Hanoi on December 16th.

Present at the ceremony were General Phung Quang Thanh, Defence Minister and other leaders from the Central Military Commission, the Defence Ministry, the General Staff, the General Department of Politics and other General Departments under the Defence Ministry.
Addressing the ceremony, General Phung Quang Thanh congratulated the officers on their promotion to major-general and lieutenant-general and said the promotion is in acknowledgement of the Party, State, the Central Military Commission, and the Defence Ministry to their personal efforts and achievements over the past time.
It brought pride and joy not only to the Vietnam People’s Army but also the officers and their families, General Phung Quang Thanh added.
Besides, General Phung Quang Thanh also asked the newly-promoted generals to continued improving their skills, knowledge and leadership, and overcome all difficulties to fulfill all assigned tasks, making contributions to build up the Vietnam People’s Army.
