A delegation from the National Assembly’s Committee on Culture, Education, Youth and Teenagers worked with the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee to review laws and policies on child abuse in the 2008-2010 period on September 10.
In the last three years, nearly 450 cases of child abuse were discovered in the capital city. The number of cases reported in recent years has increased rapidly and become more complicated. Some children were abused by their relatives and teachers, some being violated when they were very young.
In the future, Hanoi will concentrate more managing the children, watching more closely to prevent child abuse and provide children with essential life skills.
