(VOV) - Sandra Therese Fagerberg, 35, and Thomas Harald Gronvoll, 32, from Sweden, who share travel as a hobby, have chosen Nha Trang beach as the place to organize their wedding.
Ms Fagerberg and Mr Gronvoll have cohabited for several years and have two children, but they decided to hold their wedding during their spring vacation in Vietnam.
The wedding took place on March 17 on the beach of Nha Trang city, in central Vietnam.
“We met the first time nine years ago during a skiing trip. We love travelling around the world and tours have helped tighten our relationship. For that reason, we planned to get married during a tour,” Gronvoll said.
“My family loves the tropical climate, blue sea and hospitality. We also want to taste delicious food and see friendly people with warm smiles, and we always dreamt of a wedding on the sea. All of these wishes can become reality in Nha Trang,” Fagerberg added.
Gail Hugkes, an Australian woman who married a Vietnamese man and has lived in Vietnam for years, has been the master of ceremonies for many weddings of this type.
“Many foreign couples wish to have memorable weddings on Nha Trang beach, because of its romantic and peaceful beauty,” Hugkes said.
Last August, the wedding of Pep Vich, 40, from Spain and Irina Claudia, 21, from Russia, also took place there, with the Spanish Ambassador to Vietnam Tormado Curcvo Ruvgomer serving as the master of ceremonies.
In the late afternoon, 100 guests from Russia and Spain gathered on Hon Tam Island to attend the wedding. Ambassador Ruvgomer started the wedding at the flower gate by telling the love story of the couple.
Pep Vich came to Vietnam ten years ago to work in a software design firm. Russian student Claudia chose Vietnam as the destination for her summer vacation in 2010. They met each other on Hon Tam Islet of Nha Trang city, so they wanted to organize their wedding there.

Six months earlier, this islet also witnessed the wedding of Mikhalev Artem and Polyakov Aleksandra.
“Why don’t we hold our wedding on the beach of Nha Trang, Vietnam?” The groom recalled that he had proposed marriage to his wife with that question.
They knew each other when they were students. They decided to get married at the age of 25 and they chose Nha Tranh beach for their great day.
That Russian couple’s wedding was held in late February 2011. “The ocean witnessed our vows,” the bride said. The couple walked barefoot on sand, surrounded by rose petals.
Nha Trang is the capital city of Khanh Hoa province, located on the southcentral coast of Vietnam.
The city is well known for its pristine beaches and excellent scuba diving, and is fast becoming a popular destination for international tourists, attracting large numbers of backpackers as well as more affluent travellers on the Southeast Asia circuit. It is already very popular with Vietnamese tourists.
Nha Trang Bay is widely considered as among the world's most beautiful bays. Tourists are welcome to participate in the Sea Festival, held biennially. Nha Trang hosted the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant and Miss Earth 2010. It has been approved to host the 2016 Asian Beach Games.
