Previously, on June 29, police in Tam Dinh commune in Tuong Duong district caught Nguyen Van Chung, 25, transporting three moon bears (Ursus thibetanus) on a motorcycle.
The moon bears are listed in Vietnam’s Red Book of rare and threatened species.
The three mammals, one of which had lost a leg, are being well cared for at Nghe An-based Pu Mat National Park before being released back to the wild.
