The 400,000 USD Malaysian tournament, part of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super Series Premier system, is a good opportunity for the Vietnamese player to earn more points and improve his place in the world rankings.

The event brings together most of the world’s top badminton players including Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia), Lin Dan (China), Taufix Hidayat (Indonesia), and Peter Hoeg Gade (Denmark). Tien Minh seeded eighth at the event.

This is the second tournament in the super series organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

As estimated, 2012 is an important year for Tien Minh and faces some challenges, especially the Olympics in London 2012./.
