A stage production of Shakespeare's Macbeth by artists from the TNT Theatre will be performed in three major cities – HCM City, Hanoi and Da Nang – from October 26 to November 4.

Macbeth, one of the four great Shakespearean, tragedies from the 17th century, tells a tale of a corrosive urge for power at the price of conscience.

TNT theatre has been celebrated worldwide for their re-invention of the Shakespearean classics. Since its foundation in 1980, TNT has performed in more than 30 countries and been described by the UK's Guardian newspaper as "the most interesting development on the current theatrical scenes" .

The company seeks to integrate all the performing arts in a style of theatre that merits the name of TNT – "explosive theatre" or TNT which also means The New Theatre.

Macbeth, TNT Theatre's first Shakespeare production, has been performed in 31 countries worldwide since its premier in 2000.

Vietnam is one of three Asian countries TNT will visit this year.

The director is Paul Stebbings, whose work has won many awards at the Munich Biennale, the Edinburgh Festival and the Tehran Festival.

There will be two shows at HCM City's Municipal Theatre at 11am and 8pm on Oct. 26 and 28. On Oct. 29 there will be an evening show only.

Hanoi will have evening performances at 8pm on October 31 and November 2, with the curtain going up twice, at 2pm and 8pm, on November 1.

After HCM City and Hanoi, the theatre will have one show at Trung Vuong Theatre at 8pm on November 4.
