Nhan Dan – The eighth conference of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations was held on 23 February in Hanoi.
Addressing the meeting, Huu Thinh, the Union’s chairman, reviewed the organisation’s activities in 2010, the third year in which the Party Politburo resolution No.23 on building and developing literature and arts was in force, and outlined its directions and tasks in 2011.
The conference also approved an action plan for the 2010-2015 tenure, in which, the Vietnam Union of Culture and Arts Associations will continue to fulfil its tasks of consulting Party and State agencies concerning policies that promote the country’s literature and arts, as well as renew its operations and organisation to match with the current demands.
