Listening to royal music in Perfume River

Many claim tourists should take a dragon boat cruise in the Huong River and enjoy a Hue royalmusic performance by native artists while the boat is at anchor in the middle of the river; otherwise, their visit to the city is virtually meaningless. Their claim is indeed true as the UNESCO recognized this type of music as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in November 2003. For some, it might be boring to listen to the music but for others, it is well worth exploring it since it is diverse in terms of instrument and timbre, repertoire, and ensemble form like duo, trio, quintet and sextet. Why not give it a try while in Hue?
