Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich visits Chengdu Military Region

Director of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam Defence Ministry, Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich

PANO - The Director of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam Defence Ministry, Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich and members of the Vietnamese high-ranking military delegation on September 17th visited the Chengdu Military Region.

The visit lay within the framework of the official visit of the Vietnamese high-ranking military political delegation at the invitation of the General Political Department of the People’s Liberation Army of China.

A top delegation of the Chengdu Military Region, led by the Political Commissar, warmly welcomed the Vietnamese guests.

At the meeting, the hosts briefed the guests on the traditional history of the Military Region that covers Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and the Xizang and shares over 753km of border with Vietnam.

The Chinese Political Officer highly valued the traditional friendly good relationship between the two Parties, States, peoples and Armies and affirmed that the Chinese Army was trying its best to further strengthen the ties.

He reported that the Chengdu Military Region and Vietnamese Military Region No2 have boosted cooperation over the past years and the two sides have reached a number of achievements in joint border activities. The two sides regularly send their working groups to exchange experiences and information.

In return, Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich expressed his thanks to the hosts for their warm and friendly reception. The Vietnamese Director of the General Department of Politics proposed that both Vietnamese and Chinese military forces should become mirrors to follow principles and viewpoints agreed by Party, State and Army leaders of the two countries and continuously strive to strengthen the traditional friendly good ties between the two Parties, States, people and Armies.
