PANO - A meeting on conception of terrorism and some problems relating to legislation of Law on Terrorism Prevention and Control was held on July 26 th in Hanoi by Standing Committee on National Security and Defense.
According to Resolution No. 07/2011/QH13 of the 13th National Assembly on a program to build law and ordinances in 2012, a bill on terrorism prevention and control will be submitted to the National Assembly for approval in the coming time.
Over the past years, terrorism in the region and over the world has developed complicatedly, seriously threatening peace and causing severe consequences for many countries in the world.
According to a figure, since 2011, there have been about 6 million terrorist cases, causing 50,000 deaths and 86,045 injured people with various disastrous consequences.
In Vietnam, there has been no terrorism caused by international terrorism organization, however, relevant agencies have found several terrorists who penetrated into the nation.
Also, illegal selling, keeping and using of weapons and explosives are developing complicatedly. So, legislation and promulgation of Law on Terrorism Prevention and Control is necessary at present.
