Nhan Dan Online - The La Bach reservoir was inaugurated and put into use on July 8 in the central province of Phu Yen.
The lake, located in the mountainous district of Song Hinh, was built at a total cost of VND25 billion (US$1.2 million) and has a surface area of more than 91 hectares.
The La Bach reservoir has a capacity of 2.2 million cubic metres and is designed to provide water for irrigating 100 hectares of rice and 178 hectares of sugar cane.
It also provides fresh water for 400 people in Song Hinh district, in addition to improving the local environment.
