Korean Language Festival 2011 to take place

The Korean Language Festival 2011 will open in Hanoi on October 29th and in Ho Chi Minh City the following day by the Korean Culture Centre, the General Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korea Foundation and KBS Education Centre.

The Festival aims to promote exchanges and the assistance of the Republic of Korea in teaching the Korean language for Vietnamese students and encourage more Vietnamese people to study Korean language.

Around 1,000 students from eight schools in northern and central regions that teach the Korean language, participates in the festival day in Hanoi with many interesting activities in Korean language such as: quiz, games, artistic performances and storytelling.

Besides, Vietnamese students from the Korean language department of Hanoi Foreign Language University, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Hanoi University will also have an exchange with an editor from KBS Television and Korean film director, Hallyu.

Similarly around 1,000 students from 8 centres teaching Korean will join the event in Ho Chi Minh City with various activities such as: writing calligraphy, taking photos, playing folk games at Ho Chi Minh City Military Theatre on October 30th.
