Korean Film Festival 2009 screens in HCM City

Actress Kim Ha NeuI arrive at the opening of the Korean Film Festival 2009 on October 18.

VietNamNet Bridge – Eight Korean films in different genres, including comedy, horror, action and artistic, are being screened free of charge at the Korean Film Festival 2009 at Lotte Cinema Saigon South, 469 Nguyen Huu Tho street, Tan Hung ward, District 7, HCM City.

The festival, organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in HCMC, Lotte Cinema Vietnam Company and Han Viet Media Company, is within the framework of Vietnam-Korea Cultural Exchange Activities in 2009 and lasts until Oct 22.

According to the organizers, this is a cultural activity to help cement the solidarity and friendly relations between Vietnam and Korea.

Nu Tham Tu Xinh Dep (Beautiful Detective) featuring leading Korean actress Kim Ha Neul, Mong Em Hanh Phuc (More than Blue), Thien Ac Quai (The Good The Bad The Weird), Trom Bau Vat (Once upon a time in Korea), Tan Cong Trai Dep (Attack on the pin up boys) and Yeu La The (Hello Schoolgirl) will be presented during this festival.

Neul and Korean fiIm director Yang Sun Uk will take part in a cultural exchange with Vietnamese fans and Vietnamese artists such as Duc Thinh, Chi Bao, Thanh Thuy, Ngoc Hiep, director Le Hoang, Nguyen Nghiem Dang Tuan and Vietnamese singers.

The organizers said some 15,000 complimentary tickets for the movies will be distributed at Lotte Cinema Saigon South in District 7 and Diamond Plaza in District 1.
