The event was attended by the Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, as well as Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Tran Van Tuy, Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, and leaders of sectors and branches of the province and Thuan Thanh district.
The Vice President and the other delegates offered incense at the tomb and temple of Kinh Duong Vuong, Lac Long Quan, and Au Co, which were recognised as national cultural and historical relics in 2008.
Vice President Doan also attended an inauguration ceremony for the two stone dragons in front of the tomb.
According to legend, Kinh Duong Vuong, who gave birth to Lac Long Quan and established the country’s first primitive state, is an ancestor of the Vietnamese people.
The main day of the festival, the 18th day of the first lunar month, is the anniversary of Kinh Duong Vuong’s death.
