(CPV) - On January 5 th , the Vietnam Writers’ Association along with Kim Lan writer’s family held inaugurate ceremony of “Kim Lan Writer’s Memorial House” at 35, alley 424 Tran Khat Chan, Hanoi.
The Souvenir House is built by painter Nguyen Thi Hien - the eldest daughter of the writer and the brothers in his family. The house of 4 storeys located on a 60 m2 site is full of the images of Kim Lan writer with autographs, works, manuscripts, letters... which is maintained and collected from a various sources.
Kim Lan, real name Nguyen Van Tai, was born at Phu Luu village, Tan Hong commune, Tu Son district, Bac Ninh province. Kim Lân is a man of simplicity and humility in literature and also in life.
Vietnamese writer Kim Lan is best known for short stories about country life in northern Vietnam. He is the author of realism literature. Lan received public attention for works such as Lang (Village) in 1949, Nen Vo Nen Chong (Becoming Husband and Wife) in 1955 and Con Cho Xau xi (The Freakish Dog) in 1960
Lan was also known for his performance in the film Lang Vu Dai Ngay Ay (Vu Dai Village) based on the work of Vietnamese realist author Nam Cao. In the film, Lan played the role of Lao Hac, a peasant struggling during the Vietnamese feudal and colonial period 1930-1945. He also acted in the film ‘Vo Chong A Phu’ (Couple of A Phu) based on the short story of the same name of writer To Hoai.
On this occasion, Kim Dong Publishing House has awarded Kim Lan’s family the book "Kim Lan – Anchorite among literature village" in the book set “My writer”.
This book is launched on the occasion of his 4 th anniversary of his death. This is a useful book to learn about the life and career of writer Kim Lan, helping to supplement literature knowledge in schools and fostering love for literature in general and Kim Lan’s literature in particular./.
