Key Japanese industry exhibition to woo exhibitors

The 4th Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition is to open on October 7 in Ho Chi Minh City. The Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) is cooperating with the Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) to organise the exhibition in the second city’s Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) during October 7-9.

A range of industries will be in the shop window This exhibition is organised in the sprit of Japan-Vietnam Economic Partnership Agreement (JVEPA) which were signed by both governments in December 2008, with one of the aims to developing Vietnam’s supporting industries.

As planned, the exhibition will comprise two major parts with the first one for buyers including Vietnam-based Japanese firms, or those arriving in from Japan and the Southeast Asia. These Japanese firms will exhibit parts, accessories and materials that they want to be supplied.

The second part of the exhibition will be for suppliers including Vietnamese enterprises and foreign-invested firms in Vietnam which will exhibit products, parts, accessories that they want to supply to buyers.

Special technical workshops on product standard improvements will also be held during a day at the exhibition with the presentations of Vietnamese and Japanese experts.

The exhibition will showcase a wide range of bike and automobile parts and accessories, electrical and electronic parts and accessories, plastic products, different metal products, mechanical products, moulds, packaging products and other supporting industries.

The third Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition opened in Hanoi in November last year with the participation of nearly 120 enterprises of Vietnam and Japan. According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, more than 1,400 Japanese enterprises are investing in fields of production, services, human resource training, and technological transfer in Vietnam.

The development of supporting industries will help facilitate Japanese investors’ production in Vietnam and raise the localisation rate of Vietnam-based foreign invested manufacturers.

There are totally 100 stalls for exhibitors, each of whom will be offered a stall for free. The registration deadline is June 15, 2010 at the ITPC’s Promotion Division at 51 Dinh Tien Hoang street, district 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
