Resident representative of KOICA Vietnam Office Kim In donates three ultrasound machines to Saint Paul Hospital in Hanoi
The three ultrasound machines, including one for thyroid and cardiac ultrasounds, another for muscular and skeletal diagnoses and one that is portable, were given to the hospital through projects carried out by KOICA doctors Cho Tae Jin, Seo Young Jin and Cho Jae Hee.
In the hand-over ceremony on June 27, the three doctors said they do hope the addition of these ultrasound machines to the clinic’s equipment will improve medical diagnoses and treatment at the hospital. They particularly hope the portable ultrasound machine will enable mobile health check-ups.
Resident Representative of KOICA Kim In also today also handed over school equipment worth around US$10,000 to Lien Hao kindergarten in Kien Thiet commune, Tien Lang district, Hai Phong.
This support is part of a project to improve the pre-school training environment at Lien Hao Kindergarten as proposed by KOICA volunteer, Ahn Ji Ye. Ahn has volunteered at the school since September 2010 and will finish her term this July. During her stay, she was directly involved with caring for and teaching the kindergarteners, as well as sharing their happiness and difficulties. When she discovered the kindergarten’s lack of teaching equipment, Ahn submitted her proposal for support to KOICA, asking the agency for US$10,000 to purchase classroom essentials such as tables, chairs, and indoor and outdoor toys.
Lien Hao Kindergarten was supported to construct by KOICA in 2008 with total fund of approximately US$70,000 via a project developed by KOICA volunteer Yang Jin Hyun. Since then, the kindergarten has continuously received KOICA volunteers to help its pre-school education.
