The event, organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, aims to educate the younger generation about national history and the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Naval Forces and raise their awareness of and sense of responsibility for defending the country's sovereignty over its sea and islands to maintain its territorial integrity.
The journey will begin at K15 Do Son Wharf in Hai Phong city and continue to six other wharfs including Song Gianh in Quang Binh province, Sa Ky (Quang Ngai), Vung Ro (Phu Yen), Loc An (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), Thanh Phong (Ben Tre), and Vam Lung (Ca Mau), ending at Brigade 125, Cat Lai Port, in Ho Chi Minh City.
During the 18-day journey, participants will take part in various activities including 'Youth for the National Sea and Islands' festivals at each stop and visiting and presenting saving books and social houses to needy families of former crew members on the unnumbered ships.
