Pham The Huynh confessed to the police he stole 22.5 grams of gold and VND3.2 million (US$164) from the checked-in luggage of an unnamed passenger who had flown in from Hai Phong.
He also fingered two other colleagues, Nguyen Huu Do and Nguyen Van Xuan, who allegedly helped him hide the ill-gotten gains.
Airport security officials found part of the money on Huynh’s person.
Jetstar has returned the money to the passenger.
