Japan helps Soc Trang general hospital in therapy techniques

(CPV) - The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) just dispatched an experienced physical therapist, Mr Saito Satoru, to work at the Soc Trang provincial general hospital.

(CPV) - The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) just dispatched an experienced physical therapist, Mr Saito Satoru, to work at the Soc Trang provincial general hospital.

Before coming to Vietnam, Mr. Saito Satoru had 5 years working for Tsudanuma Chuo hospital, doing physical therapy to patients in the departments of neurology, neurology surgery, orthopedics.

According to a press release issued by JICA on March 7, he is among 72 volunteers working in Vietnam under the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) program of JICA.

Mr. Saito Satoru is the 3rd volunteer on physical therapy sent by JICA to the hospital after Mr. Takahashi Yosuke, who finished 2 years of working term in January, 2012.

“JICA volunteers are very enthusiastic and responsible for their work and patients. They helped Vietnamese therapists improve their knowledge and therapy techniques”, said Ms. Ly Mai Phuong, vice director of the hospital.

So far, there are over 400 Japanese volunteers sent to Vietnam by JICA in the fields of education, health, agriculture-rural development, environment, and supporting industry development./.
