Four reporters from the Youth Weekly, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Investment Review and People Newspaper have won the JICA Vietnam Media Awards 2011.
The award winners are “From Japan with love” of Dang Thi Hong Hanh from the Youth Weekly, “Surviving the Mekong Delta Outback” of Nguyen Ngoc Le from Vietnam News Agency, “Colours of cherry blossoms in Nhat Tan” of Pham Anh Minh from Vietnam Investment Review.

Notably, a special prize was given to Doan Tra My from the People Newspaper for her excellent articles “One village, one product movement” and “Improve living environment for labourers in industrial zones”.
The contest received more than 40 articles from 23 news and media organisations throughout the country.
Mr. Tsuno Motonori, Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam pointed out that various activities of Japanese volunteers in Vietnam have been featured in many articles sent to this year’s contest and most of them reflected the heartbeat, emotion and friendship between Japanese and Vietnamese people as well as the blossoming cooperation between the two countries.
The prize-winners will take part in a three-week study tour combined with vocational training and natural environment protection in Japan from November 11th.
JICA Vietnam Media Awards was first launched in 2010 to mark the 15th anniversary of JICA's presence in Vietnam and to honour active contributions of reporters to the development of Vietnam-Japan relationship and to popularising JICA Vietnam’s activities.
