The event, which runs until March 14, has brought together nearly 70 racers on nine strong Vietnamese teams and one Malaysian team.
The cyclists are competing for a total cash prize of VND250 million (US$12,000) in seven stages measuring 680km through the provinces and cities of Binh Duong, Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, and Binh Phuoc.
Binh Duong’s Nguyen Thuy Dung finished first in the 3km opening race around Binh Duong City yesterday and won the yellow jersey before entering the 120 km second stage from Binh Duong to Vung Tau city today.
