A three-day international seminar on dentistry began in the capital city of Hanoi on July 28 with the participation of nearly 1,500 leading local and foreign dentists.
In the opening address, Minister of Health, Nguyen Quoc Trieu, said that his ministry has instructed and encouraged local hospitals to promote scientific achievements and modern technology for people’s health care, especially in the field of dentistry.
He said the country’s dentists have boosted co-operation and sought new technology from foreign partners, while explaining reasons behind the improvement in dental and oral care, particularly for children.
The seminar heard 32 presentations on dental issues, including tooth transplants, oral surgery and diseases related to the mouth and teeth.
On the same day, participants visited an exhibition on dentistry that displayed dental equipment, materials and oral care products made by leading firms from the US, Germany, France, the UK, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Israel. (VNA)
