(VOV) - The French language serves as a link between nations around the globe for the sake of peace, cooperation and development, said a senior Vietnamese diplomat at a ceremony held at Hanoi Opera House on March 20 to commemorate International Day of Francophonie.
Deputy Foreign Minister Le Luong Minh spoke highly of the successful operations of the Francophonie in the fields of peace, security, sustainable development, culture, languages, science and technology.
Anissa Barrak, an official from the International Francophone Organization (OIF), stressed the use of French in promoting cultural diversity and dialogues between nations.
She welcomed Vietnam’s active participation in teaching the French language.
At the ceremony, insignias were granted to two Vietnamese for their contributions to the Francophone movement in Vietnam.
