The Vietnamese Party and Government have paid special to co-operative development, considering it as an important model for national development as around 70% of the country’s population lives in rural areas.
PM Phuc said Viet Nam plans to increase the number of co-operatives by 15,000 by 2020.
In a bid to achieve the target, the Vietnamese National Assembly issued and amended the Law on Co-operatives for three times and adopted a resolution on development of new-style cooperatives through 2020.
Earlier last year, the Government approved a pilot co-operative model for the Mekong Delta for 2016-2020
Chairman of the Viet Nam Co-operatives Union Vo Kim Cu said developing news-style is imperative but output and quality should be improved to compete in domestic and international markets.
He went on to say that high quality human resources and high technology are the two very important things to ensure the success of the new model./.
