VGP – Hungarian Deputy State Secretary for Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Janos Hovari is now on a working visit to Vietnam from May 7-9.

During his stay, Mr. Janos Hovari paid a courtesy call to Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and held talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.

He also visited Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Long City of the Northern province of Quang Ninh.

At the talks, both sides informed each other about recent developments in each country and expressed their pleasure at the progress of the bilateral relations.

They discussed specific measures to boost the multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economics, trade, sustainable development and others.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern, including the situation in the East Sea.

Hungarian side voiced support for Vietnam’s stance of ensuring maritime safety and solving disputes through peaceful measures and on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The two countries affirmed their determination to beef up cooperation between the two foreign ministries in the coming time.
