VietNamNet Bridge – Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) club has agreed to let Thai international Thonglao leave but any club that wants him will have to pay $200,000 to buy out his three-year contract.
Thonglao arrived in HCM City on January 12 to see HAGL’s officials and chief coach Kiatisuk to discuss his contract.
HAGL’s manager Nguyen Tuan Anh and coach Kiatisuk said the club is willing to let Thonglao go but any club that wants to buy Thonglao would have to pay compensation for the remaining three years of his contract.
According to HAGL officials, three clubs want to recruit Thonglao – the Thai current champions Maung Thong, Chonburi also from Thailand and an Indonesian club. However, none have directly negotiated with HAGL as yet.
Thonglao joined HAGL in 2008 with a three-year contract and a monthly salary of 70 million dong.
After a meeting with HAGL’s officials, Thonglao returned home the same day to prepare for the qualifying rounds of the Asian Cup 2011 with the Thai national team.
