Police in Hanoi on Sunday arrested a man who had insulted and attacked reporters at work.
According to the police, Tran Xuan Thanh on June 14 used bad words against reporter Pham Hong Phong from VTC14, a channel specialized in environment and hazards at Vietnam Cable Television (VTC).
Phong was reporting some safety problems at Phu Dien Railway Station in Tu Liem District.
The 36-year-old local Thanh tried to take away Phong’s video camera and attacked another reporter, Le Duy Khanh, from the An Ninh Thu Do (Capital Security) newspaper, as Khanh was taking shoots of the pulling.
Thanh has a prior conviction of resisting officials on duty.
