The Hanoi Urban Environment Company (URENCO) on August 25 put another wastewater treatment plant into operation in the outlying district of Soc Son. The VND40 billion (US$.2 million) facility, the second of its kind to have been built at the Nam Son waste treatment complex, is capable of treating 1,000 m3 of wastewater a day. Four years ago, URENCO put its first plant into operation, which was designed to treat 500 m3 of wastewater and cost VND18 billion to build. VOVNews/VNA
