Traffic on Kim Ma Road, Hanoi, gets better after the new method is applied.
VietNamNet Bridge – Hanoi authorities have decided to allocate 25 billion dong (around $1.5 million) to the Department of Transportation to re-organise traffic flows at 50 places.
The fund will be invested in repairing some intersections like Mai Dong – Linh Nam, Long Bien – Xuan Quan, Cau Dien – Nhon, Nhat Tan – Lac Long Quan, Hoa Thi – Nhon and Dao Tan – Buoi. It will also be used to buy mobile barriers, traffic signs and pay for traffic maintenance forces.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Transportation asked the city authorities for 60 billion dong (over $3.3 million) to implement solutions to counter traffic jams and to build flyovers for pedestrians.
Hanoi traffic police have recently applied a new method to fight traffic jams, which helped eliminate 40 sites of frequent traffic jams in the city. However, this method was carried out during the summer holiday. On August 17 in the morning, traffic jams occurred widely in the city, when students returned for the first day of school.
