Nguyen Phuong Mai and Nguyen Huu Long were crowned king and queen of this year’s Vietnam Supermodel Contest on Sunday night at Quan Ngua Stadium in Hanoi.

Nguyen Phuong Mai and Nguyen Huu Long were crowned king and queen of this year’s Vietnam Supermodel Contest on Sunday night at Quan Ngua Stadium in Hanoi.
The result was not a surprise as the Hanoi duo was hot favorites from the start.
Mai, who was born in 1990, has vital statistics of 85-58-90 and is 1.73 meters tall. She is a popular face from the local catwalk that participated in Look of The Year 2011 model search in Italy and was in the Top 15 of Miss Vietnam World 2010 contest in Nha Trang. Mai showed her confidence and talent in all challenges from photo shoots to bikini performance and situation solving. She also
received compliments from the judging panel for her skillful belly dance performance.
Long, who was born 1991, won the best body title at last year’s contest. He came back after a year of mastering physical condition and performance skills.
The final round consisted of an ao dai (Vietnam’s long dress) parade designed by Thuan Viet, evening gowns by designer/former supermodel Vu Thu Phuong and bikini performance. Then the top 14 contestants were chosen to enter a challenge named ‘feel the music’ where they contributed some hot and eye-catching dance moves to audiences and the judging panel.
There was a great moment which the audience loved when 15 supermodels like Vo Hoang Yen, Ngoc Thach and Anh Thu gathered on stage for an evening gown parade by designer Hoang Hai.
And then the crowd went wild when winner and first runner-up of Dancing with the Stars contest 2012 Minh Hang and Truong Nam Thanh paired up for an inspired Egyptian-style dance.
There were silver prizes for Dang Vu Dieu Huyen and Dinh Minh Quan and bronzes for Le Thu An, Luong Cong Tuan, Do Thi Phuong Dung and Nguyen Luu Huynh. Prizes for Friendly supermodels went to Cu Ngoc Quy and Ngo Thi Thuy Duong; Impressive performance went to Huynh Thi Kim Tuyen and Nguyen Thanh An, Best body for Mai Hong Nhung and Ha Pham Hoang Long.
