The Hanoitimes - One thousand young volunteers from the Hanoi Youth Union and nearly 500 environmental workers began work cleaning up the Ceramic Road along the Red River on May 8.
This is the first activity in the “Improving the Capital’s Environment” programme which is conducted throughout the year by the Hanoi Youth Union, the Department of Construction and the Urban Environment Company (URENCO).
The programme aims to clean up streets and public spaces in Hanoi and promote public awareness of environmental protection.
Clean-up efforts will focus on public places such as Hoan Kiem Lake, the Vietnamese Museum of Ethnology, the Temple of Literature, Thong Nhat (Reunification) Park, Lenin Park, Ly Tu Trong Park and the Ceramic Road along the Red River.
