HCMC – Leaders Hanoi T&T defeated Hanoi FC 3-1 in the derby clash at Hang Day Stadium to maintain their lead in the V-League over the weekend, while bottom-placed Haiphong earned just their second win this term.

Hanoi T&T started with three strikers Samson Kayode, Nguyen Van Quyet and Gonzalo and dominated, while Hanoi FC relied on counter attacks. National striker Le Cong Vinh surprisingly opened the scoring for Hanoi FC in the 11th minute. Striker Samson Kayode leveled it in first half stoppage time after receiving the ball from Gonzalo.

Nguyen Van Quyet and Gonzalo were on target in the 62nd and 69th minutes to secure victory to keep Hanoi T&T on top with 30 points, Hanoi FC drop to eighth.

SHB Danang beat Khatoco Khanh Hoa 2-1 at Nha Trang Stadium, maintaining second place with 26 points. The visitors took the lead through Gaston Merlo in the 53rd minute before captain Nguyen Minh Phuong netted in the 87th minute. Adejala A. Adewale scored for the home side in injury time.

The round witnessed a derby between Saigon FC and Navibank in HCMC. Saigon FC Managing Director Tran Tien Dai is still temporary coach after the axing of head coach Lu Dinh Tuan.

Saigon FC started the game without goalie Bui Tan Truong and midfielder Truong Dinh Luat who are both suspected of being involved in match-fixing in games against Navibank, Khatoco Khanh Hoa, Vissai Ninh Binh and Song Lam Nghe An. Notably, Truong made a serious mistake in stoppage time which saw Saigon draw 2-2 with Song Lam two weeks ago.

Saigon FC refuse to axe Tan Truong from the list of players for the second phase of the V-League 2012, but keeper won’t be able to play again until his innocence is proved.

Saigon FC began the clash with Antonio, Huynh Kesley Alves, Rogerio and Moses in attacking positions, while former national striker Pham Van Quyen, who moved to Saigon FC from Song Lam Nghe An on a three month loan, played for the last 15 minutes.

Nguyen Minh Chuyen opened for Saigon FC in the 54th minute before Ekpe Aniekan Okon earned a point for Navibank by netting in the 72nd minute. Saigon FC are still third on 24 points while Navibank Saigon sit tenth.

Meanwhile, Haiphong earned their second win when they beat Hoang Anh Gia Lai 2-0 at Lach Tray Stadium and Becamex Binh Duong were defeated 1-0 by Kienlongbank KG. Kienlongbank climbed to eleventh place while Haiphong are bottom on 10 points.
