Hanoi, Danang to host EU–Vietnam film festival

This year’s the 4th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival will be held in Hanoi from June 8-18 and in Da Nang City from June 15-17 and 21 -24.

This event is co-organized by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) in Hanoi and the Vietnam National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio.

18 documentary films by nine European countries (Austria, Germany, Denmark, France, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, and the UK) and Vietnam will be screened at the event.

They include Elgar – The man behind the mask; The Story of Then Village, Vinyl Tales from the Vienna Underground; Dans Tes Yeux; Early Learning; Maria and I; Mechanical Love; The Call from the Herd of Primates; A Lesson for Beginners; Life in Books; Prof. Dao Duy Anh and Work Hard, Play Hard.

The event will screen one Vietnamese and one European film each night.

This year's festival will include a “Day for young Filmmakers", which will be devoted to films by young Vietnamese documentary film makers.

A press conference on the event will be held at the Goethe Institute, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi on June 5 at 10a.m., with the participation of famous Belgian director Thierry Michel.

In Da Nang, free tickets are available at the Vietnam Film Import- Export and Distribution Company, 79 Quang Trung Street, where the screenings will also be held.

In Hanoi, the screening will be held at the Vietnam National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, 465 Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Ba Dinh District. Entrance is free.
