(CPV)- From September 1 to September 10, Vietnam National Library, in conjunction with the publishing Department, publishers, book companies, international agencies and other organisations, will open the “Halong Bay and Islands-Seas of Vietnam” exhibition.
The exhibition will be held to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2/9/1945-2/9/2011); introducing potential tourism opportunities to international friends. The exhibition is in response to the “National Tourism Year” under the theme “Islands and Sea Tourism” and the campaign to vote Halong Bay as a new World Natural Heritage site.
Nearly 1,000 valuable documents and books, maps, photos, CDs and documentaries, some from the beginning of the 20th century, showcasing the strength, potential and beauty of the Vietnamese islands and seas will be displayed at the exhibition.
The exhibits will be on display in two separate sections: Halong Bay – the beautiful and unique natural wonders; and the beauty of the Island-Seas of Vietnam.
The exhibit will also include files describing the role of Vietnam’s islands and seas and documents relating to the international and domestic laws of the sea and Vietnam’s islands.
Visitors to the event will also have the chance to learn more about sea route networks, ports and interesting sea tourism destinations throughout Vietnam, as well as projects looking into the economic development potential of the sea. The abundant reserves of materials in the Bay and the Islands-Seas will also be explored at the event at the Vietnam National Library.
Through exhibitions, readers, researchers and international friends can gain a comprehensive and deep understanding about Halong Bay and the islands-seas of Vietnam. Such exhibitions also help people learn about the friendliness of Vietnamese people and the nation's culture with strong national identities.
