HSBC Bank Vietnam Ltd has just been awarded the Best Overall Private Bank in Vietnam in the Euromoney Private Banking and Wealth Management Survey 2011.

This survey evaluates banking services targeting high net worth clients, in which respondents are private banks that identify the companies they perceive as top providers of both competitive and non-competitive services.

Components of the survey include a bank's performance figures and the opinions of individual banking staff on the relative merits and demerits of their banks and its competitors.

This is the eighth annual ranking of the global private banking and wealth management industry published by Euromoney and it is seen as the benchmark survey for private banking professionals' opinions across the globe.

The results of this year's Euromoney Private Bank and Wealth Management Survey were based on the votes of more than 1,500 private banking professionals across the globe, and show big changes in the upper echelons of the global wealth management industry.

This award is HSBC Vietnam's first international accolade for 2011 and follows a number of prestigious titles over the last few years.

HSBC was voted Best Foreign Bank in Vietnam for five consecutive years from 2006 to 2010 by FinanceAsia; Best Consumer Internet Bank in Vietnam 2009 and 2010 by Global Finance, among other awards.

HSBC has been in Vietnam for 140 years with the first office in the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City opening in 1870. It was the first foreign bank to launch its locally incorporated entity on 1 January 2009 as HSBC Bank Vietnam Ltd.

Its current network includes one branch and five transaction offices in HCM City, one branch and three transaction offices in Hanoi, and four branches in Binh Duong, Can Tho, Da Nang and Dong Nai.
