(VOV) - The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade opened the International Exhibition on Technologies of Green Energy and Energy Saving Products (Enertec Expo 2011) at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Center on August 17.
Addressing at the opening ceremony, Le Manh Ha, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, said the exhibition is designed to raise public awareness of energy efficiency. The event also helps to encourage the development of green energy in the city, thus contributing to the implementation of the national strategy on energy efficiency and reducing environmental pollution, he said.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said Enertec Expo 2011 is a significant opportunity to promote power saving among industrial producers and household power consumers as regulated in the Law on Energy Efficiency, which takes effect in 2011.
The Enertec Expo 2011 will provide consumers a chance to buy high-quality energy-saving products made by domestic and foreign businesses.
During the four day event, there will also be a seminar on energy-labelling and a contest aimed at encouraging students to present their ideas and solutions for power saving.
