Nhan Dan – The 2012 Guangxi-Vietnam Trade Fair kicked off at the Vietnam Exhibition and Fair Centre in Hanoi on July 26 with the participation of nearly 120 companies from Guangxi, China and many Vietnamese enterprises.
The fair features 140 pavilions showcasing over 1,000 different products, including automobiles, machinery, household appliances, porcelain and pottery, farming products, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, and high-tech products.
According to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Commerce, Vietnam has been an important partner of the province over the past few years. Two-way trade turnover reached US$7.57 billion in 2011, representing a year-on-year increase of 47.7%.
Guangxi’s major exports to Vietnam include garments, chemicals, steel, automobiles, diesel engines, and agricultural products, while Vietnam exports coal, minerals, rubber and other agricultural products to the province.
The 2012 fair, the sixth of its kind in Vietnam, aims to boost mutual understanding and bilateral trade between Guangxi and Vietnam.
The exhibition, held jointly by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Commerce and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will last until July 29.
