Viet Nam's committees for peace and solidarity have called for a cease fire and requested to boost dialogue to seek solutions regarding the unrest in Libya.

The Viet Nam Peace Committee; the Committee for Solidarity and Co-operation with Asia, Africa and Latin America; and the Committee for Solidarity with Libyan People issued a statement yesterday, supporting the declarations and activities of international and national peace, solidarity and friendship committees in Libya.
The committees expressed their deep concern over the recent violence and shared the Libyan people's losses.
They also called upon all parties to end military actions and seek peaceful solutions suitable under international law and the basic principles of the UN Charter.
The parties should also respect the sovereignty of all nations and avoid damaging international relations for the interest of the Libyan people, and for peace and stability in the region and the world. — VNS
