Gold shop robbed 25 taels, no casualty

An armed robbery case occurred Thursday night in the central province of Binh Thuan when four robbers who disguised themselves as customers entered gold shop Hoang Kim and robbed of 25 taels, worth US$46,000.

Entering into the shop, one of the robbers suddenly pointed the gun towards the shop owner Nguyen Thi Tray, 58, to threaten her while the others broke the glass and took away around 25 taels. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Witnesses said the four robbers went on a 4-seat white Nissan. They stopped at the shop on Nguyen Tat Thanh street in Cho Lau town. Three of them entered the shop and the other was waiting in the car.

The car with number plate 52N-8572 was later found being burnt in Chi Cong commune, 15 km from the scene.

Investigation police said the car is owned by a man named T, residing in Go Vap district’s ward 9 in Ho Chi Minh City. T had reported to local police about the theft of his car.

Police are tracking down the robbers.
