Many Different Tastes Coffee, a new Vietnamese coffee brand, is collecting old teddy bears, fixing them and selling them to raise funds for the Operation Smile program.
Donations can be made by giving away old toys or buying the restored ones.
All proceedings from the program, titled “Give a Teddy Bear, Save a Child,” will pay for surgeries for children with cleft lips and cleft palates, which is estimated to cost around VND5 million (US$240) each.
The old teddy toys will be received until the end of this month at two stores of the brand in Ho Chi Minh City: 90 Mac Thi Buoi, District 1; and 420 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, District 3.
The renewed toys will be sold at the District 3 outlet on August 26.
Around 200 teddy bears have been donated to the program.
