The event was attended by Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Secretariat Le Hong Anh; Politburo member and Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang; and Party Central Committee members Deputy Head of the CPVCC Commission for Organisation Nguyen Tuan Khanh; Chairman of the National Assembly Ethnic Minorities Council Ksor Phuoc; Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Tay Nguyen (the Central Highlands) Nguyen Van Nen, and Secretary of the Gia Lai provincial Party Committee Ha Son Nhin, along with other representatives from ministries and sectors.
Addressing the celebration, Politburo member Le Hong Anh praised the province’s efforts and contributions to the country’s achievements over the past 80 years. He also urged Gia Lai to uphold its patriotic tradition and promote its potential and advantages to accelerate economic restructuring.
The Politburo member directed Gia Lai to focus on Party building and purifying the political system, serving comprehensive and sustainable economic growth in the province and maintaining national defence and security.
Over the past 80 years, Gia Lai has seen steady development with an average annual GDP growth rate of 13.6%, which has helped improve living conditions for the people.
On the occasion, Politburo member Le Hong Anh presented the Independence Order, first class, to the Party committee, authorities and people of Gia Lai province.
