Nearly 200 former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military specialists have met with members of the Lao General Consulate and Lao pupils and students studying in Central Da Nang city to mark the 60th anniversary of Vietnam’s military assistance to Laos (October 30). At the meeting on October 28, they relived the old days of assisting Laos during the two wars of resistance against French colonialists and US imperialists for national defence. They pledged to assist the Lao individuals and collective units who are studying and working in Da Nang to promote the traditional friendship between the two armies and people of Vietnam and Lao. During the two wars, 20,000 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military specialists were killed and 60,000 others injured in Laos.
